CHILDRENS MENTAL HEALTH WEEK

1 -7 FEBRUARY 2021

Place2Be launched the first ever Children's Mental Health Week in 2015 and what better way to shine a spot light in the importance of children's mental health than art!!

We have invited children to create a piece of art expressing their likes and worries. Download the free template or create your own piece, send them to us to be in with a chance of winning some It's OKAY Project goodies.

SKATEBOARD PROJECT

We recently donated skate decks to Unitas Youth Zone in Barnet, London. Rachel there provides skateboarding lessons and required some new skate decks to replace the broken ones they had. We were more than happy to help and loved popping by to see the amazing work which goes on at Unitas. We threw in some free Zines too!

OKAY HOMELESS PROJECT

HELP A HOMELESS PERSON KEEP WARM

Every beanie hat we sell, we donate one to DENS in Dacorum who aim to be the first port of call for people in Dacorum facing homelessness, poverty and social exclusion.

We have delivered the beanie hat donations to DENS and would like to thank every single person who purchased one.

You can grab a beanie from our store here

ZINE DONATIONS

WE HAVE DONATED OVER 100 ZINES!

We were awarded the Hertfordshire Year of Culture Grant in 2020 which has enabled us to print a large amount of Zines and distribute them for free. We gave free Zines to DENS homeless charity, Oxygen drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre, Oaklands College, Unitas Youth Centre and lots of struggling individuals.

We hope these Zine will inspire readers to choose a creative outlet as a form of communicating mental health struggles. Also opening the conversation of mental wellbeing, helping others feel less alone.

UPCYCLED POTTERY

Thanks to Oaklands College Pottery Studio, we were able to upcycle unwanted ceramics. These were sold for donations and we raised a whopping £50 which will go towards helping our project. We would like to thank everyone who purchased a pot and supports our work.
